Port Waikato is a fabulous place to take a break away from it all. Whether travelling or just 1 hour up the road in Auckland.  Many BBH members have found this a great place to spend their last night in New Zealand but wished they had arrived a couple of days earlier, just to relax, wind down and enjoy the peace and wonderful scenery.

We'll provide the bedding fully serviced modern kitchen and bathroom facilities.  Waikatoa Beach Lodge has been set up for the young and young at heart, we love to welcome families here and have some really affordable family rooms.  You can also hire our whole lodge for an extended family retreat, orgainised group outings, groups of friends for a summer holiday or weekend get-away.  Ask us about our rates for hiring the whole lodge.

Our lodge is situated two minutes walk from beautiful sunset beach and has modern facilities (kitchen and bathroom), sunny courtyard, homely atmosphere and we've brought a beach theme into our landscaped garden. Our helpful staff, have a whole heap of knowledge on how to have a good time at Port Waikato.  Here's a few facts about our lodge:

• Ideal location for first or last nights in New Zealand or off-the beaten track.
• Great place for a brief get-away from the cities of Auckland or Hamilton to the peace of Port Waikato witout the hassle of distance to travel.
• Small backpacker campervans and tents allowed. Check with us for prices.
• 1 hour from Auckland airport, turn off from SH1 at Pokeno or
• We can arrange a free pick up form the Pukekohe Train Station or Bombay Service Centre, but must have notice and time to plan.
• No Public Transport available to Sunset Beach
• No Eftpos facilities but can accept visa/mastercard
• Shop for your groceries in Tuakau or Pukekohe before you arrive at Port Waikato (the local Port Waikato Wharf Store does have a good supply for convenience)
• Mobile phones have poor reception at Port Waikato, come prepared or do without...
• Free internet facility in our office.  Broadband available, no Wii Fi
• Fishing gear and DVD's available.
